FEB UGM Students Won 1st Winner in National Paper Competition Taxplore 2018 at Universitas Indonesia

Three Undergraduate Students of Faculty of Economics and Business UGM, Ega Kurnia Yazid (Economics 2015), Lutfiyah Sungkar (Economics 2015), and Nada Serpina (Economics 2015), won 1st winner in National Paper Competition Taxplore 2018. This competition was held at the Faculty of Administration Science, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI) from Friday, 30 November 2018 until Saturday, 1 December 2018.
Taxplore 2018 is an annual paper competition held by Fiscal Study Group (Kostaf) Faculty of Administration Science, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI). This year, Taxplore 2018 held a theme "Taxation in the Digital Economy Era," and it consisted of 2 activities, namely seminar and paper competition. The FEB UGM team was qualified through the various stage of the competition until finally won the 1st winner for the paper competition.
The competition consisted of three stages. First, the participants must submit a paper with one out of the six sub-themes provided. Then, 10 qualified teams were invited to FIA UI to continue the selection stage of paper presentation in which the teams came from various universities around Indonesia such as Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Airlangga, PKN STAN, Universitas Sebelas Maret, and Telkom University.
After that, from the two stages, the score was accumulated and 5 teams with the highest score continued to the final round. In the final round that was held on Saturday, 1 December 2018, 5 qualified teams were given case studies in which participants had to analyze cases raised from major themes and the seminar, find solutions to solve the case and prepared for the presentations within 15 minutes.
In the final round, the 1st winner belonged to FEB UGM team, 2nd place belonged to PKN STAN team and 3rd place belonged to Universitas Airlangga team.
