MoU Affirmation of UGM and Bank Indonesia

Friday (24/2), Faculty of Economics and Business UGM reinforced the cooperation which had been agreed few years ago. The event titled "Kuliah Umum Kebanksentralan: Outlook Tantangan dan Arah Kebijakan 2017" and took place in Sukadji Ranuwihardjo Auditorium, Magister Manajemen UGM Building. It consisted of two main segments: general lectures and the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tridharma foundation.
The event was attended by Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Perry Warjiyo, Ph, D., member of Indonesian House of Representatives from Commision XI Ir. Muhammad Prakosa, Ph.D., UGM Rector Prof. Ir. Dwikorita Karnawati, M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Cooperation and Alumni, Dr. Paripurna, Head of BI Institute, representatives of Head of Bank Indonesia in DIY-Jateng; and also moderated by Eko Suwardi, Ph. D as Dean of FEB UGM.
Before the general lectures, the event was preceded by the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Dwikorita Karnawati and Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Perry Warjiyo. The event was then continued by the exchange of Token of Appreciation between UGM and Bank Indonesia.
"The cooperation with UGM had been undertaken since 2003 by pioneering courses 'Kebanksentralan' in FEB UGM. So far, there have been 73 universities that follow." said Perry. Other than that, his organization committed to give tuition assistance in research scholarship program and open an internship program for UGM students.
In his lecture, Perry explained about how Bank Indonesia policies affect Indonesian economy in the future. Meanwhile, Muhammad Prakosa explained more about the roles of State Budget (APBN) in development of Indonesia. The general lecture was attended by hundreds of participants fulfilling Auditorium MM UGM. This event was expected to improve the cooperation between academics and policy practitioners so that the alumni of the university have a high competence level in global area.
