To foster Indonesia’s human capital, Wednesday (9/11), the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), in collaboration with The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, held an information session entitled "Establishing Continuous Improvement Strategies for Business Schools in Indonesia”. Specifically, in the title, this event raised the title "Preparing Future-Proof Human Capital".

Information session This event invited speakers, namely Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., DIC., PhD., IPU., ASEAN Eng. as Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Ministry of Education and Culture Research and Technology) the Republic of Indonesia. Nizam started with the impact of the fourth industrial revolution, especially on the professional and educational side, which is related to the challenge of the need for competence and expertise. Nizam then explained the need for more flexible and meaningful learning in addition to prescriptive learning, namely with modules and books. This can be achieved through the Merdeka Campus program, more specifically with activities outside the campus: student exchanges, entrepreneurship, humanitarian activities, internships, research assistance, community empowerment, to military service. Nizam also explained the need for exposure to material relevant to trends, such as machine learning and the Internet of Things.

In constructive contribution to human capital in Indonesia, the Merdeka Campus has been nurturing young talents through a flagship program to improve the quality of CVs, certifications, and expertise of students and practitioners since 2020. Merdeka Learning Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) 202 has received positive feedback, especially regarding relevance and enthusiasm. In maintaining the relevance and quality of the Merdeka Campus, the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology instils 8 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and evaluates them periodically. The Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology is also racing and working with accreditation bodies for educational institutions nationally and internationally. In the context of developing MBKM, the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology is targeting collaboration and investment targets, among other university consortiums, curriculum development, scholarships, internships in industry, joint research facilities, and several other educational marks. Nizam concluded that MBKM has and will try to implement a mature transformation of universities in Indonesia to become flexible universities, agile, adaptive, and competent in building future-proof human capital.
