Remembering the Predecessors through a Pilgrimage to the Sawit Sari, Pogung, and Kota Gede Cemetery

Friday, 9/15, in order to commemorate and remember the services of FEB UGM's academic predecessors, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), carried out a grave pilgrimage to three graves, namely the UGM Sawit Sari Graveyard, the Pogung Graveyard, and the Kota Gede Graveyard. This pilgrimage is part of the 68th FEB UGM Dies Natalis. The pilgrimage began with a joint prayer and departure from FEB UGM. Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, S.E., M.Com., Ak., CA. gave a speech by reminding that apart from being aimed at remembering the services of FEB UGM's predecessors and fulfilling the rights of grave experts, the pilgrimage (ziarah) is also expected to remind the FEB UGM family about death, so we need to prepare deeds and kindness while in the world.
Then, the FEB UGM family was divided into two groups, namely, the group headed to (1) Sawit Sari Cemetery and Pogung Cemetery and (2) Kota Gede Cemetery. At each grave, the FEB UGM family met with representatives of the family of the deceased predecessor of FEB UGM. The FEB UGM family then sewed flowers, prayed together, took photos together, and remembered the predecessors of FEB UGM through life stories and the contributions of the deceased to FEB UGM.
The UGM Sawit Sari Cemetery is the burial site for many FEB UGM professors. The UGM Sawit Sari Cemetery group continued their journey to Pogung Cemetery, namely the grave of the late Prof. Dr. Mohammad Gudono, M.B.A., Akt., Ph.D. Mrs. Dra. Sofiatun Gudono, M. Si, Aks during this pilgrimage. met the FEB UGM family and expressed their gratitude for the willingness of the FEB UGM family to make a pilgrimage to Prof. Gudono. After making a pilgrimage to the three graves above, the FEB UGM family group said goodbye to the deceased's families, and the deceased then returned to the faculty. With this grave visitation, we pray for the predecessors of FEB UGM so that their graves will always be widened. We also pray for the FEB UGM family who are making the pilgrimage to receive blessings from the pilgrimage.
