The Faculty of Economics and Business UGM student team consisting of Erika Dwiyana Fransiska (Economics 2018) and Karina Fitria Kurniawan (Economics 2018) won the Best Networking Session award at the 2021 International Student Conference on Asia-Africa Studies (ISCAAS) which was held on 6-7 November 2021. International Student Conference on Asia-Africa Studies is an annual competition event organized by the Development Studies Economics Student Association (HIMA ESP) Universitas Padjadjaran.
This year, ISCAAS has the theme "Discovering the Ideas of Asia-Africa Post-Pandemic Resurgence''. By raising this topic as the main theme, it is hoped that in this competition event, solutions or ideas can be found for the recovery of the post-Covid-19 pandemic in Asia-Africa. This competition consists of two competition categories, namely paper writing and networking session. ISCAAS was attended by various groups of students, including those from Northwestern University-Philippines, University of Indonesia, Bandung Institute of Technology, and Brawijaya University.
The FEB UGM team participated in providing ideas about the impact of Covid-19 on the economy, especially regarding the topic "Global Market Steadiness during the Pandemic Covid-19". There are two stages in the networking session competition category, namely discussion and presentation. The discussion in the networking session was carried out by discussing the impact of Covid-19 on Indonesia's current account. Participants also need to provide alternative solutions that Indonesia can do in achieving international trade stability during the Covid-19 pandemic. The presentation by the FEB UGM team received a good response from the jury from Padjadjaran University. In the end, the FEB UGM team was able to win the Best Networking Session award. Once again congratulations to the winning team!
