Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada builds cooperation with PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk (BTN) in training program, property development consultation, and research which supports Housing Finance Center (HFC) service.
This cooperation is marked by the signing of Memorandum of Understanding by the Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business, Eko Suwardi, M.Sc., Ph.D., and the Managing Director for Strategy, Compliance, and Risk of BTN, R. Mahelan Prabantarikso, on Friday (3/11) at UGM main office.
"We would like to build a permanent cooperation with academicians, especially UGM, which is an ideal university for conducting research and it always obtains the top ranking in Indonesia," said Mahelan.
Mahelan said the cooperation on property sector is built due to the increase in property demand, particularly housing, while its availability is limited. Therefore, this cooperation is done to realize the synergy in the framework of property or housing development in Indonesia through the HFC program.
"The cooperation aims to address the issue from two sides which are offer and demand," he added.
The scope of the cooperation consists of various programs, including socialization or training which supports HFC service, consultation regarding property development, as well as research which supports this service.
Mahelan hopes through this cooperation, the two parties can raise solutions for addressing the property issues in Indonesia as well as encouraging the property development by the young businessmen.
"The cooperation is expected to strengthen our relationship with UGM as well as conduct more activities," said Mahelan.
In addition, BTN established BTN Zone at Faculty of Engineering UGM as a facility for student communities to enhance their activities in UGM campus. In this place, the students can obtain banking service, entrepreneurship, as well as academic activities with various facilities.
UGM Rector appreciates this cooperation as one of UGM’s efforts in broadening its influence as well as enhancing its quality. Therefore, UGM Rector hopes the result of this cooperation can be beneficial for both academic community and society.
