Wednesday (5/07) Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), in collaboration with the the Alumni Family of Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (KAFEGAMA) and Pupuk Kaltim (PKT), hold the Opening of Pupuk Kaltim - Gadjah Mada Business Case Competition (PKT-Gama BCC) took place, marking the start of the event which aims to develop and foster individuals who are dedicated, intelligent, critical, agile, and open in order to increase knowledge and build a dignified nation.
Rahmat Pribadi, CEO of Pupuk Kaltim (PKT), opened the event by highlighting the green transformation of the petrochemical industry and emphasizing PKT's commitment to supporting the government's program to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2060. Transformation towards sustainability in the agribusiness sector is the main focus of this competition.
This event is also momentum for the launch of electric vehicles as a symbol of PKT's commitment to environmentally friendly practices. Wirza Eka Putra, VP of the Public Service Department, and Hanggara Patrianta, Director of Operations and Production, unveiled electric vehicles as a measure to reduce carbon footprint and promote clean transportation in Indonesia. The opening was also continued by Perry Warjiyo, S.E., M.Sc., PhD, the Governor of Bank Indonesia, who is also the General Chairperson of the FEB UGM Kafegama.
The webinar session was then held and moderated by Reza Mayasari. Leading speakers provide insight into various aspects of environmental, social and governance (ESG) sustainability and development in the agribusiness sector. Ong Tek Tjan, Co-Founder of Terang Bagi Bangsa (Titipku), explains the company's profile and its impact on ESG and sustainability. Reslian Pardede, an ESG practitioner, shared his insights on the importance of ESG in driving sustainable business practices. Then, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, M.Com., Ak., CA., Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business UGM, emphasized the crucial roles of academics, government and society as the three main actors in higher education. Didi also explained National Priority Research in Economics and Business, including Human Resource Development, Regional and Community Development, Public and Institutional Sector, Green Economy and Business, and Economic Digitalization. The session ended with the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session, which was enthusiastically attended.
