In 2018, Palu was hit by a devastating earthquake, tsunami, and liquefaction. Many people were affected by this natural disaster. One of them was Heni Ardianto (25), Management-MSc 2021, who was struggling to finish his bachelor's degree at a state university in Palu. Surviving the earthquake and tsunami was a great blessing for him.

It was an emotional moment that was captured at the graduation ceremony of postgraduate students of the Master of Science (MSi) program at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UGM, Wednesday (4/24). Ulfatun Nikmah (26), Accounting-MSc 2021, tried to remain strong as she read her speech as the best graduate representative for this period. However, the tears in her eyes became uncontrollable when she mentioned the names of her parents, who contributed so much to her success in her studies. Occasionally, she would stop reading her remarks and sigh as she wiped away the tears that continued to flow.

The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UGM graduated 303 postgraduate students for period III of the academic year 2023/2024. The graduation ceremony took place on Wednesday (4/24) at the FEB UGM campus, after the graduates had earlier been awarded degrees directly by the UGM Rector at the Grha Sabha Pramana (GSP) UGM and thousands of graduates from other faculties.

The Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) has once again achieved outstanding results in global rankings. This time, FEB UGM managed to reach the top position in the Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings (QS WUR). In 2024, the UGM Social Sciences and Management cluster was ranked 178th worldwide and second in Indonesia in the QS WUR by Faculty Area. This represents an improvement on the 2023 ranking, when FEB UGM was placed 180th globally.
