UGM Students Won 2nd Winner in Brunei Indonesia Malaysia Business Case Competition 2018 at Universitas Negeri Surabaya

Three students from undergraduate program Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) won the 2nd Winner in the Brunei Indonesia Malaysia Business Case Competition 2018 held by Universitas Negeri Surabaya on November 2-3, 2018. The students joined together as a team called Breakfast Club, consisted of Afrizal Hakim (Management 2015), Dharmawan Santosa (Economics 2016), and Patria Dhawastu (Accounting 2015).
Brunei Indonesia Malaysia Business Case Competition (BIMA BCC) is an annual business case competition held by Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Negeri Surabaya. This year, BIMA BCC 2018 is putting on the main theme of "Creating a young generation with progressive and reliable in creative thinking, innovative, and solutive." With PT Adhi Karya, Tbk. as the main partner for providing the business case, participants are required to create a comprehensive business solution for PT Adhi Karya’s business problems to win the competition.
BIMA BCC 2018 consisted of two stages, the preliminary stage, and the final stage. On the preliminary stage, participants are required to propose a short paper regarding an innovation to improve the customer’s experience of Kebab Turki Baba Rafi. On the final stage, 15 selected participants are then required to present another case about PT Adhi Karya’s business case solution. The 15 selected participants chose from many respectable universities across Brunei, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Some of the shortlisted campuses are Universitas Indonesia, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Institut Teknologi Surabaya, UCSI University Malaysia, and IIUM University Malaysia. The final stage then was held in Surabaya on November 2-3, 2018.
The final stage of the competition is the presentation of the last case which has been prepared by the participants. On the final stage, Breakfast Club team from FEB UGM presented a business case solution for PT Adhi Karya, Tbk. which titled "3 Pillars Lockdown: Optimizing Risk, Supply Chain, and Customer Retention to Ace Local and Global Construction Industry" in front of three judges from practitioner and academician background. At the end of the competition, the Breakfast Club FEB UGM conducted an excellent performance and announced to be the 2nd winner by the judges.
