KAFEGAMA Officially Inaugurates Overseas Special Branch

The Executive Board of the Alumni of Economics and Business Faculty Universitas Gadjah Mada (KAFEGAMA) has held the Inauguration of the Special Branch Manager of KAFEGAMA Overseas (PENGCABSUS KAFEGAMA LN) as well as an online Alumni Talkshow on Sunday (19/9). The event was attended by 99 representatives from the Central Executive, Regional Management, and KAFEGAMA Alumni spread across 5 continents. There were prominent KAFEGAMA alumni figures who were also present on the occasion, namely Salman Al Farisi as the Indonesian Ambassador to South Africa and concurrently Botswana, Eswatini, and Lesotho who was also the Chair of the Advisory Council for overseas KAFEGAMA.

The series of events began with the reading of the Decree for the Management of the Overseas Special Branch by Friderica Widyasari as the General Secretary of PP KAFEGAMA. The series continued to the main event, which is the reading of the charter and the inauguration procession. The General Chairperson of PP KAFEGAMA, Perry Warjiyo, played a role in inaugurating Djauhari Oratmangun who is the Indonesian Ambassador to the People's Republic of China and also Mongolia as the chairman of KAFEGAMA's Overseas Special Branch for the 2021-2024 Period. The selection of this position was carried out through consensus deliberation by a team of formators led by the Head of Division III for Alumni Empowerment and Promotion, Hendri Saparini.

After that, Perry Warjiyo continued the series of events by describing the work program of KAFEGAMA for the period 2021-2024 which was packaged as the acronym M-I-G-U-N-A-N-I. The first work program is Member Proud by strengthening the community and harmony between the management and members. The second is Innovative Learning by supporting academic quality and FEB UGM graduates. The third is the Government Policy Brief which aims to construct assessments and recommendations to the government and strategic partners. Then fourth, UMKM Jaya, which is meant to encourage the digitization of MSMEs and the people's economy. Fifth is the Network Organization with the aim of expanding the organizational network. The sixth is Alumnae Success by strengthening alumni network for leadership and the seventh is Institution Shine to strengthen the organization.

The event then continued to the Alumni Talkshow session. The session was held as the implementation of the Network Organization's work program with an effort to expand the KAFEGAMA network overseas. The Alumni Talkshow was attended by many inspiring and informative speakers, including Peddy Adhyaksa, Founder and CEO of Viorez Medizintechnik Gmbh in Munich, Germany, and Eko Riyanto from the Division of Economics School of Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Jurong, Singapore. In addition, Zaki Mansoer as Director of Global Partnership and Resource Mobilization Islamic Development Bank, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and Esti Pratiwi from Financial Management and Practitioners JPMorgan Chase, Ohio, United States of America were also present.

The series of events on that night was a form of KAFEGAMA's contribution in enlivening the 66th anniversary of FEB UGM. It is hoped that the inauguration ceremony and the Alumni Talkshow session can provide benefits for every element in KAFEGAMA and make real contributions according to the mantra mentioned by the General Chairperson of PP KAFEGAMA, namely MIGUNANI.
