As part of the Master Studies in Sustainable Development and Management (MASUDEM) Consortium activities, Prof. Nurul Indarti, Ph.D., a member of the Steering Committee from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), attended the Steering Committee Meeting in Budapest, Hungary, from 21-23 February 2024. The consortium, funded by the Erasmus+ European Union, is a collaboration between three universities in Indonesia (Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesian Islamic University, Trisakti University), three in Thailand (ICONIDA, Srinakharinwirot, and Naresuan University, Bangkok), and partner universities from Europe, namely: University of Economics, Bratislava (Slovakia), Universidad Pablo De Olavide, Seville (Spain), Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Budapest (Hungary), and Mendel University, Brno (Czech Republic). The consortium aims to design or update the curriculum related to sustainability in the Master of Management Program.
Prof. Anetta Caplanova, from the University of Economics, Bratislava, who is the project coordinator for MASUDEM, chaired the three-day Steering Committee Meeting. She discussed the progress of writing 13 learning modules and plans for launching or updating the new sustainability curriculum at partner universities in Indonesia and Thailand. Prof. Anetta was optimistic that each partner would be able to implement a new curriculum or update learning materials in the following semester. "We are happy and optimistic that our university partners, both in Indonesia and Thailand, already have mature plans for the middle of this year. Hopefully, the launching or updating of new curriculum in each study program can be carried out and will also be monitored by Erasmus+ European Union in 2025."
Prof. Nurul Indarti, a representative from the Master of Management Program at FEB UGM, emphasized that the draft curriculum with the addition of a new concentration for the MM FEB UGM, namely Sustainability Management, has been finalized. The initial launch will be carried out in the new semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. "We hope that with this new concentration, the awareness and knowledge of the younger generation (future business leaders) regarding sustainability aspects will increase," she said.
