It's a significant milestone for the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (FEB UGM), as 50.12 percent of our new undergraduate students have been awarded Single Tuition Fee (UKT) scholarships. Among them, 13.32 percent have received a full 100% UKT scholarship, meaning they pay no UKT fees.
"50.12 percent of you received UKT scholarships, and 13.32 percent of them received a 0 rupiah UKT scholarship. This is a very proud achievement and is proof of FEB UGM's commitment to providing equitable and quality education access to all levels of society," said Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, M.Com., C.A., during his speech at the opening of PIONIR SIMFONI 2024, Wednesday (31/7) at Plaza FEB UGM.
In front of 605 new undergraduate students, Didi said that the provision of UKT scholarships is a manifestation of FEB UGM's commitment to providing quality education access to students from various regions in Indonesia. As part of UGM, FEB is firmly committed to increasing inclusivity by providing equal education access for all.
"FEB is committed to providing equal access to the community, including those with economic, social, or geographical vulnerabilities, to realize equitable and inclusive education. We believe that by giving everyone the same opportunity, we can build a fairer and more prosperous society," he explained.
On this occasion, FEB UGM also appreciated the 49.89 percent of parents of new students who are economically capable and fully finance their children without UKT scholarships. The full support of these students' parents not only brings pride but also contributes significantly to supporting the realization of excellent and quality education at FEB UGM.
Furthermore, Didi stated that FEB UGM is committed to fostering future leaders in economics and business to develop sustainability aspects. Through a curriculum that is constantly updated and future-oriented, as well as the support of competent lecturers, he is confident that FEB UGM can produce graduates who are not only intellectually competent but also possess high integrity and social awareness.
"We believe that you, new students, are young pioneers who will bring positive changes to the nation and the world," he said.
