In commemoration of their 27th Anniversary, the Masters in Development Economics (MEP) Study Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) celebrated by holding a Tasyakuran event on Friday (03/06). The Tasyakuran event consisted of several agendas and was carried out both offline and online by inviting the entire MEP FEB UGM academic community.

Faculty of Economics and Business UGM received a visit from the ASEAN University Network (AUN) from Thailand on Monday (30/05). AUN itself is a university organization in ASEAN that aims to strengthen cooperation networks in the field of higher education. This event was held offline in the Kertanegara Meeting Room at FEB UGM and was attended by the academic community of FEB UGM and members of AUN. Among them were Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo as Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni Relations, Luluk Lusiantoro as Executive Secretary of AUN-BE, Prof. Didi Achdjari M.Com., Ak., CA as the Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Tandelilin Eduardus, MBA as Program Director of MM FEB UGM Jakarta Campus, Ing-or Jeerararuensak as the Chairperson of AUN-QA, Achavadee Wiroopetch as the Senior Program Officer.

The Gadjah Mada Business Case Competition (GAMA BCC) is a manifestation of the mission of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) to prepare Indonesian leaders in the digital era. This competition is one of UGM's efforts to provide a place for learning and mentoring by the nation's best leaders in the business sector, a forum for sharing insights, and opportunities to compete to foster leadership qualities in Indonesian students. Furthermore, the BCC GAMA is held in order to support the achievement of the mission of the Faculty of Economics and Business UGM, especially in terms of producing innovative and creative leaders in solving business problems in the current digital era. In accordance with the spirit of "rooted and towering", students participating in this competition are expected to be able to make a real contribution and impact to the community, as well as to build closeness or engagement with industry through the business cases provided. This competition is supported by KAFEGAMA (Faculty of Economics Gadjah Mada Alumni Family) and PT. Pupuk Kaltim Persero as the organizing partner, as well as all practitioners, academics, leading experts, and several media partners.

The issue of sexual violence is an issue that is of concern to many parties today. To prevent and overcome these problems in the campus environment, FEB UGM carried the theme of prevention and handling of sexual violence in FEBinvinity on Friday (27/05). The holding of the webinar was expected to increase the literacy of the FEB UGM academic community in handling and preventing sexual violence in the campus environment.

On Wednesday (25/05), a Graduation Ceremony for Period III of Academic Year 2021/2022 was held. This graduation ceremony was carried out 100% fully offline for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic. Even so, this event was carried out in compliance with health protocols, namely wearing masks, maintaining distance, and was held in an open space, FEB UGM’s Learning Center’s lobby.

The role of scholars is considered important for the progress of the nation for various reasons. One of them being that scholars play a morally important role in guarding the journey of the nation so that it remains in accordance with noble ideals and the constitution. After the Covid-19 pandemic, Muslim intellectuals who were members of the Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI) rose again with all elements of Yogyakarta society. This also became the determination and vision carried by the ICMI management of the Yogyakarta Special Region Organization (DIY) for the 2022-2027 term of service.
