The Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) has lost one of its best faculty members, Drs. Edi Prasetyo Nugroho, M.B.A. from the Department of Management, who passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 13.00 WIB at the funeral home Jl. Pandega Mukti Condong Catur, Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta. He died at the age of 69, leaving behind three children and valuable contributions to the academic world, especially in management.

Prior to the burial, Edi was kept at the Dr. Soetarto Yogyakarta hospital before receiving the final respect from the FEB UGM community. The funeral was held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 in the afternoon at the UGM Sawitsari Cemetery.

Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, S.E., M.Com., Ak., CA., representing the FEB UGM extended family, expressed his deep condolences on the passing of Dr. Edi Prasetyo Nugroho, M.B.A. "Today, one of FEB's best faculty members has passed away. "On behalf of the extended FEB family, we express our deepest condolences. We hope that the departed will find the best place with God and that the family left behind will always be given patience, strength, and sincerity," stated Didi.

Meanwhile, FEB UGM Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., PhD, as well as a colleague in the Management Department of FEB UGM, said that the departed was not only an experienced lecturer in the field of Human Resource Management with a specialization in Change Management, but also a person who integrated knowledge in the world of practice. Edi's contribution was evident in his leadership of the Management Research and Development (PPM FEB UGM).

According to Bayu, Edi was a figure who paid great attention to contextualizing concepts and interpreting context. As a senior lecturer, Edi was a clear example of an educator who cared about his juniors and students. "Despite his health conditions in recent years, he remains enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge. His enthusiasm and simplicity are an example for us," said Bayu.

Edi Prasetyo Nugroho was born in Semarang on January 14, 1961. He has made significant contributions to the field of management science. During his 37 years of service at FEB UGM, Edi contributed significantly to the study and research of human resource management and organizational development.

Edi's career at FEB UGM began after he graduated from UGM with a Bachelor's degree in 1986. He went on to earn a Master of Business Administration degree from Cleveland State University in 1995.

During his service at FEB UGM, Edi served as the Head of Management Research and Development (P.P.M.) FEB UGM for two periods, from 2002-2008. Edi's perseverance in providing service to advance the world of education led him to receive the 25-Year Loyalty Award from UGM (2012) and the Satya Lencana Karya Satya from the President (2013).

Although Dr. Edi Prasetyo Nugroho, M.B.A. is no longer with us, his commitment to the development of the country through education will always be remembered.
