10th Economic Events (Eccents) is an annual event held by the economics student society of Universitas Airlangga. This year, Eccents raised the theme of demographic bonus optimization to answer the challenge of sustainable development. Eccents consisted of few stages. The first stage was the abstract submission and the best 40 abstracts were chosen to proceed to the next stage. The 40 teams were required to submit a full paper to pass to the next stage. By analyzing the paper, the committee chose the best 10 teams and invited them to Faculty of Economy and Business Universitas Airlangga to compete in the final stage.

Bella Indah Permatasari (Accounting 2013), Selma Rani Elvita (Accounting 2013), Alexander Michael (Economics 2013), and Henri Widiyanto (Accounting 2014) recorded proud achievements by being selected as Young Leaders for Indonesia (National Program) this past month. They went through a rigorous selection process, in order to get one of the 60 available YLI seats, by pulling ahead over ~850 other candidates.

FEB UGM team’s paper won the Best Paper on Youth Economic Conference 2017 held by Gadjah Mada Accounting Days 2017, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada on May 18-20, 2017. The team was consisted of three accounting students, Achmad Faizal Azmi (Accounting 2014), Muthia Ulfa M. (Accounting 2014), and Gadis Wulan Novembrily (Accounting 2014).

The team from of Faculty Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada which consisted of Dhany Putri Ekasari (Economics 2014) and Wida Reza Hardiyanti (Economics 2014) won the first place in the Paper Competition National Development Conference held on 4-6 May 2017 in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The theme of the competition was the Poverty Alleviation Program (PAP) which became one of the important points in SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) in achieving No Poverty.
