Wikan Karis Basutama (FEB UGM undergraduate student from Department of Accounting 2013) participated in an event held by Deloitte Southeast Asia Network named "SEA Tax Challenge 2017". It was a regional-scale tax case competition whose contestants came from several countries, namely Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. It took place at Deloitte University Asia Pacific (DUAP), Sentosa Island, Singapore.

Department of Accounting's students, Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) achieved another national accomplishment. Students joining the Taxmanian Devils team, consisting of Samuel Edwardo, Eringga Irfiana, Wikan Karis Basutama, and Karunia Damayanti won the Second Winner on Deloitte Tax Challenge (DTC) 2017. Moreover, Wikan was chosen as the Best Individual Performance and will represent Indonesia in Deloitte Tax Challenge ASEAN Round (Individual Category) in Singapore at the end of February 2017.

The Mario team of Universitas Gadjah Mada(UGM) has come out as the third winner of the national marketing competition, Nielsen Challenge Competition 2017, in Jakarta on 19 January.
With members Brio Elprananta, Untari Febrian Ramadhani, and Dewi Kharisma who are all students of Management Department of Faculty of Economics and Business UGM, the team had to compete with 223 teams from 30 universities in Indonesia.

Three Accounting students of UGM, namely Nisrina Adelia Roselenny (Accounting 2013), Resa Masela Khairunnisa (Accounting 2013), and Rahadian Irfan Istiarto (Accounting 2014) managed to become champions in XFest Case Competition 2016 held by BCA and Marketeers. XFest 2016 was conducted in two places; in Jakarta from October 12-15, 2016 and in Malang from October 26-28, 2016, UGM team made it to the final stage in Malang. In the race they were asked to complete and provide solutions for BCA e-wallet application products or My pockets.

Good news comes from Henri Widiyanto, a second-year student from Accounting FEB UGM. In August 2nd 2016, Henri was appointed as the only UGM student who achieve the prestigious award from KPMG ASEAN Scholarship 2016. KPMG ASEAN Scholarship is a scholarship program which is specifically aimed for the first-year and the second-year student at a university in ASEAN. This year is the second year of the scholarship program. With the offer of opportunity to experience a working exposure, this program is highly in demand.
