A total of 20 professional staff from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) participated in a training titled "Navigating and Handling Diverse Student Populations" organized by the Master Studies in Sustainable Development and Management (MASUDEM).  

The training aimed to enhance FEB's professional staff's communication and management skills, especially in managing diverse student populations and dynamic campus environments. The training was conducted online from October 25 to 31, 2024.  

Participants received comprehensive training on a variety of topics, including communication with Generation Z by Viktória Nagy, characteristics of online communication by Ferenc Csizovszky, stress management and communication by Rita Takács, and supportive discussions in university environments by Albert Mihály.  

Other topics included non-verbal communication by Ferenc Csizovszky, equal opportunities and support for students with special needs by Anett Pásztor-Nagy, and conflict management, effective communication, and the importance of time management in the workplace by Fanni Berta, Ferenc Csizovszky and Szilvia Makai.  

One of the participants, Brigita Titah Nareswari from the Partnerships, Admissions, and Alumni (KiAA) Unit, shared that she gained a wealth of new insights during the training sessions, which she found directly applicable to her daily tasks. This practicality reassured her of the value of the training.  

"Thank you, FEB UGM, for allowing professional staff to attend the MASUDEM training. Over five days, we learned about communicating with Gen Z, assertive communication, inclusive education, and stress and conflict management. Even though it was conducted online, the trainers from ELTE University delivered the material very interactive and insightfully," she said.  

Hari Wibowo, a professional staff member of P2EB FEB UGM, expressed a similar sentiment. He felt the MASUDEM training benefited FEB UGM's experienced staff, offering new perspectives and encouraging creativity and discussions relevant to their daily situations.  

"We learned about effective communication in our respective areas of work. For example, how to approach younger generations, including students, and new perspectives on providing equal services to people with special needs. Thank you to FEB UGM and ELTE University of Hungary for the opportunity to participate in this training," he said.
