The Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) underscored its strategic role in promoting sustainable social impact through its active participation in the International Conference of Community Engagement and Exhibition 2024, held at Gelanggang Inovasi dan Kreativitas (GIK) UGM on December 10-12, 2024.
Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Collaboration and Alumni, highlighted FEB UGM's commitment to creating societal impact. "In contrast to social impact, societal impact refers to the collective outcomes of the education and research conducted by our faculty members. To achieve this, FEB UGM has established the Economics and Business Clinic program, which integrates laboratory and field activities annually," Gumilang explained on Tuesday (10/12).
At the exhibition, FEB UGM showcased various social impact-oriented initiatives developed by its Economics and Business Clinic, including platforms such as Sidek-Edu, Sidek-ERP, ekonomisirkular.id, and UMKM (micro, small and medium enterprises) projects under the Entrepreneurship and Leadership Study Fields. "Through this event, we hope that visitors can learn from these innovations and participate in using them," he added.
Nasfa Yanti, CEO of Aisyah Craft and a participant in FEB UGM's UMKM program, shared her experience and noted the significant benefits of FEB UGM's training and mentoring. Since November 2024, she and about 80 UMKM in the Yogyakarta and Central Java regions have received training in digital marketing, social media optimization, product design, human resource management, and business development. "The training has provided me with valuable insights, and after implementation, my business revenue has increased significantly," she said during the conference.
Nasfa highlighted the benefits of using SIDEK ERP for financial reporting: "We used Excel for manual financial reporting. With SIDEK ERP, the process has become much easier".
Similarly, Arin Ike Kristanti, founder of Ulu Belu Nature and another FEB UGM UMKM partner, expressed her gratitude for the program's impact. She noted that the mentorship has broadened her perspective on business development and hopes that FEB UGM's support for UMKM will continue.
