The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), is exploring a possible collaboration in education and research with the Otto Mønsted Foundation and the Government of Denmark.

This initiative was discussed during the visit of the Deputy Ambassador of Denmark to Indonesia, Per Brixen, with the CEO of the Otto Mønsted Foundation, Nina Movin, and her delegation to the MM FEB UGM campus on Monday, 18 November 2024. The Danish delegation was warmly welcomed by the Vice Dean of FEB UGM for Research, Community Service, Cooperation and Alumni, Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., and the Head of the MM FEB UGM Jakarta Campus, Prof. Eduardus Tandelilin, Ph.D.

Vice Dean Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., highlighted opportunities for future cooperation during the meeting. The Otto Mønsted Foundation and the Government of Denmark expressed their desire to partner in education by providing scholarships for Danish students to study in UGM's MBA program.

In addition, the proposed cooperation includes joint research projects between faculty and researchers from universities in Denmark and UGM's MBA faculty. Opportunities for visiting professors to teach and participate in international conferences were also discussed.

"At the meeting, the Otto Mønsted Foundation committed itself to encouraging Danish universities to establish closer cooperation with UGM in education and research," said Gumilang.

He added that FEB UGM welcomes the proposed partnership and hopes these initiatives can be implemented soon to benefit both FEB UGM and Denmark.

FEB UGM is planning a reciprocal visit to the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, Denmark, in 2026 as a follow-up. The visit will coincide with the NIBES annual meeting and explore collaboration opportunities with the Otto Mønsted Foundation.

This meeting is a strategic first step in bridging educational and research ties between Indonesia and Denmark while enhancing the quality of education in both countries. Future collaborations are expected to strengthen academic relations between Indonesia and Denmark and benefit international education and research significantly.
