In addition, the event offered personality and interest tests to help prospective students determine the fields that best suit them.
In his opening remarks, the head of FEB UGM Master of Management Program, Dr. Sahid Susilo Nugroho, M.Sc., said that this event aimed to provide information and motivation for prospective Master's and Doctoral students to choose a course of study that matches their interests and talents.
Sahid emphasized that MD is committed to providing quality education with an up-to-date curriculum, internationally trained faculty, and international accreditations such as Lamemba and AACSB. "MD has graduated over 4,227 alumni who have spread across various sectors, including academia, entrepreneurship, and government," he explained.
Opportunities for Graduate Studies
FEB UGM MD alumna Prof. Dr. Endah Saptutyningsih, M.Si, a professor at UMY, shared her experiences during her studies at FEB UGM MD and provided tips for success in pursuing graduate studies. She shared that during her time at FEB UGM MD, she gained solid skills in research methodology and many opportunities for publications and international conferences.
"FEB UGM MD provides financial support and guidance for publications. These facilities became an important foundation for building an academic career, including the opportunity to lead a program of study and make a positive impact across different institutions," Endah said.
Endah also stressed the importance of networking, which allows individuals to solve problems more efficiently. She emphasized that interactions with advisors and active participation in international conferences open opportunities for research projects and help build professional relationships that benefit one's career.
"Strong networking helps us create collaborations, exchange ideas, and build a global network that is beneficial for personal and institutional development," she explained.
Tips for Success in Graduate School
During her graduate studies at FEB UGM MD, Endah acknowledged her challenges, from time management and stress to difficulties in finding relevant research topics. She advised prospective students to set daily goals, manage their time well, and seek support from advisors and professional networks.
Endah also emphasized that commitment, dedication, and a passion for learning are the keys to success.
"As long as we can manage our time, we can set aside part of the day to start writing. Set a daily goal, such as writing a paragraph. The hardest part is getting started, but if you do it consistently, it will eventually become a habit," she explained.
