The Alumni Association of Faculty of Economics and Business UGM (Indonesian acronym: KAFEGAMA) succeeded to held Jogja Entrepreneurs and Financial Technology Expo (JEFE) 2018. This event consisted of seminar, business presentation, workshop, and exhibition. JEFE 2018 presented several keynote speakers in the economic sector, including Dr. Ir. Leonard VH. Tampubolon, MA (Deputy Head of Ministry of National Development Planning), Sugeng (Board of Governors of Bank Indonesia), and Prof. Dr. Sri Adiningsih (Professor of Faculty of Economics and Business UGM). This event was held on Saturday (10/2) at Faculty of Economics and Business UGM.

Globalization has changed commodity traffic system into more open. In ASEAN, the existence of ASEAN Economic Community (MEA) turns the commodity traffic system among the countries members into more flexible and free. Customs and Excise are expected to provide service to the public society in order to make all process become efficient. Moreover, generally customs and excise also take part in the economic development in this globalization era of trade and investment. Therefore, customs and excise are also having more wider and important role.

Faculty of Economics and Business UGM in cooperation with Australian National University (ANU) Indonesia Project held a Public Lecture on the topic of "Anti-Globalisation, Poverty and Income Inequality." Public lecture was held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Kertanegara Room FEB UGM. The event started at 09.00 to 11.00 and was attended by more than 200 participants from S1, S2, practitioners, lecturers and researchers. The event was opened with remarks by the dean of FEB UGM, Dr. Eko Suwardi, M.Sc. which emphasizes the importance of discussion topics for Indonesia. Then, followed by a welcome from Lydia Napitulu, S.E., M.Sc., who is a representative of the Australian National University.
