On Monday October 10, 2016, FEB UGM Senate held the 2016-2021 Handover Ceremony of Deanship attended by FEB UGM lecturers, administrative staffs, and students. Prof. Marwan Asri, MBA., Ph.D, the FEB UGM Senate Chairman, delivered his opening speech by thanking the Deanship Selection Committee for their best efforts in ensuring the success of the dean selection process. On behalf of FEB UGM, he also thanked Prof. Wihana Kirana Jaya, Ph. D, the former Dean, for having led FEB UGM during the 2012-2016 period. The academics and non-academics achievements during his deanship more than deserved great appreciation.

As the series of Peringatan Dies Natalis ke-61 Faculty of Economics and Business Univesitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), on Monday (19/09/2016), Rapat Senat Terbuka FEB UGM was held in Kertanegara Room. Prof. Marwan Asri, MBA., Ph. D, as the Chairman of Senate FEB UGM, delivered the opening speech. In his speech he hopes that FEB UGM will be better and better in the future. He also invited all of FEB UGM family to do their respective roles for the betterment of FEB UGM. There were around 150 invited guests attended the event; from the Rector’s representatives, Kafegama representative’s, banks, FEB UGM’s lecturers, administrative staffs, and students.

On Thursday, 25 August 2016, the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) held a public lecture on “The Strategy Advancement of Financial Education and Inclusion” in BRI Auditorium, Master of Science and Doctorate Program Building. The keynote speaker was Dr. Kusumaningtuti S. Soetiono, S.H., L.L.M., Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan/OJK) Board of Commissioner for Education and Consumer Protection. Prof. Insukindro was the moderator at the event.
The public lecture was part of a series of event held by Indonesia Financial Service Authority (OJK) and Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM). Previously, OJK and FEB UGM had signed an agreement regarding Center for Financial Literacy and Inclusion Studies (Pusat Riset Literasi dan Inklusi Keuangan/PRLIK) in Kertanegara Room FEB UGM.

Technology advancement in financial sector has changed the behaviour of people to make non-cash transactions via mobile banking. The wider use of mobile apps have also opened the way for digital based companies. This should be grabbed by the banking sector to support the birth of new startup companies." Professor of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Prof. Dr. Gudono, MBA, passed away on Saturday (23/7) in Jakarta. Gudono breathed his last at 03.00 am at the age of 54 of a heart attack at the RSCM Jakarta. The man who was born in Semarang, May 26th, 1963 left four children. Dozens of relatives and co-workers give their last farewells to the deceased at the funeral home in Pandega Padma, Sinduadi, Mlati, Sleman. The body was buried in the Ngablak cemetery, Purwosari, Sleman at around 20:00 pm.
