Wednesday (12/07), the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), held an Executive Talk, which presented Ramavito Mountaino as a guest speaker. He is the Co-Founder and CFO of Eden Farm. The theme discussed in this lecture is "Ethics in the Labor Market". The activity was carried out attractively on the 8th floor of the FEB UGM Learning Center Building. This is the 10th lecture of the Global Summer Week Series in 2023.

Tuesday (11/07), the 10th session of the Global Summer Week 2023 program series was filled by Dr. Peter Verhezen, a professor from the University of Antwerp, Belgium. This session discussed the various impacts of implementing artificial intelligence (AI) in companies. As a prelude, Dr. Peter stressed that a computer would not be able to compete with the intelligence of the human brain. According to him, unlike the human brain, computers cannot understand the "context" of a thing or condition. In addition, computers also lack some of the features possessed by the human brain, such as flexible communication, plasticity (automatic adaptation), and autonomy in carrying out tasks.

Tuesday (11/7), the 9th session of the Global Summer Week 2023 program took place. Dr. Wuri Handayani, S.E., M.Si., M.A., Ak., a lecturer in the Accounting Department at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada, filled this session. On this occasion, the topic discussed was related to ethics in the agricultural industry, especially the oil palm plantation sector in Indonesia. Monday (10/07). In the 2023 Global Summer Week (GSW) series, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), Dr. Anita Alves Pena, professor of Economics and Environmental Health and Employment at Colorado State University (CSU) and Colorado School of Public Health, presents research that focuses on the intersections of labor economics, health, and occupational safety in the agricultural sector, with particular emphasis on immigrant agricultural workers in the United States (US). In her research, Anita explores the production decisions of companies that consider labor, materials and capital as inputs and how they affect production, which minimizes costs. In addition, she also discusses the implications of ethics in occupational health and safety, especially in manufacturing factories that employ workers with poor working conditions around the world.

Friday (7/07), the 5th session of Global Summer Week 2023 was filled by Dr. Fitri Amalia. Dr. Fitri is a lecturer from the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM). On this occasion, Dr. Fitri explained material related to risks and ethics in the digital ecosystem. The session opened with an explanation regarding the importance of technology in today's life. Digital technology has opened up opportunities to improve global interconnection, access to information and entertainment, efficiency and productivity, shopping convenience, and innovation development, which is increasingly skyrocketing.
